HOME CASE STUDIES NORTHWIND RETAIL
ONE PLATFORM FOR FORTY STORES
A forty-store chain running its storefront and its stock on two systems that did not talk to each other. We rebuilt both as one platform.
THE CHALLENGE
Stock was counted in one system and sold in another, reconciled overnight by hand. Anything that sold quickly oversold, and the staff had stopped trusting the numbers on the website.
WHAT WE BUILT
A single platform over one inventory model, with the storefront and the in-store terminals reading the same figures in real time. The checkout was rebuilt around the way people actually buy, and the operations team got tooling they could run without us.
THE OUTCOME
Overselling stopped in the first week. The overnight reconciliation job was deleted rather than rewritten, which gave two people their mornings back.
RESULTS
They took a half-finished platform and made it something we could actually run a business on. The rebuild paid for itself inside two quarters.
